Learn how acupuncture can change your life.

What to Expect During Your First Visit

Initial visits generally last from 30 to 90 minutes. Your acupuncturist will take a detailed health history, perform a physical exam, and provide you with your unique treatment plan.

During your first exam, your acupuncturist will spend time getting to know you and your health concerns. You may be asked a wide range of questions about your symptoms, eating, exercise, sleep habits, emotional states, and anything that may offer insight into your overall health.

Our Focus

To help you live your life feeling well. Our patients are our top priority. We are focused on developing a long-term relationship to achieve your health and wellness goals together.

Your Treatment Plan

Once your acupuncturist has gathered enough information, you’ll receive a comprehensive diagnosis and a treatment plan that will explain:

  • Your underlying imbalances
  • Your timeline of care
  • What types of treatment you will receive

How Treatment Works

To treat any Qi imbalances, fine, sterile needles will be inserted at specific acupuncture points along the meridian pathways. Your acupuncturist will concentrate on acupuncture points related to specific organs based on your unique issues and symptoms.

Getting The Most Out Of Treatment

For the best treatment results, here are a few things in mind:

  • Don’t eat a large meal before your visit
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothes
  • Be sure to discuss any questions or concerns with your acupuncturist
  • Refrain from overexertion, drugs or alcohol for at least six hours after treatment

Your Role In The Healing Process

Your actions are a key component of your treatment plan. Focusing on your health and committing to a healthy lifestyle are the best steps you can take for your well-being. Together, you and your acupuncturist can heal your imbalances and help you achieve harmony and balance.

Even after your symptoms are resolved, acupuncture can assist you in maintaining your health and possibly prevent future imbalances. The more you incorporate acupuncture and TCM into your life, the more you’ll learn to nurture your body, mind, and spirit.

Acupuncture FAQ's

Not at all!

In fact, most patients find acupuncture to be the most relaxing part of their day. Acupuncture needles are extremely thin and inserted very quickly so that almost no pain is felt. At most, you’ll feel a slight twinge or tingle.

Absolutely.

Each acupuncture needle is packaged and for single use only, which ensures every needle is 100% sterile.

For new clients, a session usually lasts between 45-60 minutes. Subsequent visits range from 30-45 minutes.

Each patient’s recommended treatment time is unique, determined on an individual basis and the condition being treated. Your individual treatment plan will be discussed during your visit.

There are hardly any.

In fact, most clients feel relaxed following their acupuncture session! In some cases, you may experience minimal bruising where the point of the needle was, but this should disappear fairly quickly.

Occasionally when the needle is removed, there might be very minimal blood.

However, there should be no bleeding beyond this. It’s safe enough that acupuncture can still be provided to clients on blood thinners.

There are no age limits to receiving acupuncture. We have performed acupuncture safely on babies to seniors over age 90.

Some insurance companies do provide coverage for acupuncture services. Our employees will happily verify your specific plan for you.

We suggest that you wear comfortable, loose clothing so that elbows, knees, and your abdomen can be accessed easily.

Acupuncture is recognized by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to be effective in the treatment of a wide variety of medical problems.
